About The Venue…

The Brook improves the audience and artist experience with TW AUDiO from TW AUDiO on Vimeo.

After an extensive re-fit in the summer of 2004 & an extensive part Arts-Council-Backed PA system upgrade in 2020. The Brook is fast becoming one of the favourite medium sized venue in the South of England.

Situated close to the University, it is an ideal venue as Southampton has an annually rising student population, which is currently over 32,000. The Brook is close to the M3 and M27 motorways, it also has easy access to rail, airport and ferry ports. With a capacity of 520, (with limited seating around the balcony), a fantastic intimate atmosphere is created whether you are sitting or standing.

The feel of the venue is a little like the old Mean Fiddler in Harlesdon, London. There are two floors with two large bars and disabled facilities. Because of the balcony, every member of the audience is able to feel close to the band. Many bands who have played have commented on how good a venue it is and we are justly proud of it.

Dressing Rooms

The Brook has two adjoining dressing rooms with power shower and toilet.

There is a fridge and washing machine in the kitchen area which leads out to an enclosed external balcony. There is also a television and Wi-Fi broadband internet access.

The comfort of the back-stage area leads to a perfect state of mind for a performance.

Access

We can accommodate from small vans to double decker touring coaches with trailers, with access straight on to the stage, and can supply overnight electricity and water to sleeper buses.
