After 34 years as the lead singer with Southampton based band Rufus Stone, Malc Eyers has finally decided to hang up his microphone and retire to the USA. His final gig with the band will be here at The Brook on New Year’s Eve. Why not come along and share this special evening and give Malc the send-off he deserves. It promises to be one hell of a night with two hours of classic soul music with selections from The Blues Brothers and The Commitments, but the bulk of the set coming from the soul greats such as Otis Redding, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Joe Tex and many others.
The acclaimed eight piece soul band have been performing constantly since their formation in 1984. On their list of credits are performances and tours with Edwin Starr, Curtis Mayfield, Ben E King, Geno Washington, Jimmy Ruffin and Gloria Gaynor.
